La Línea el Cuerpo (Jorge Tejeda)
Jorge Tejeda was born in Lima, Peru. He is a professional architect, and a self-taught artist established in Montreal, Canada since 2009.Art and creativity have always been part of his diverse practices, but it was in Montreal that he developed a consistent and committed creative process. His first solo exhibition was held in 2022. Since then, he has participated in group shows acrossCanada, Switzerland, United States, and Mexico.Coming from a world of technical drawing, he always went beyond the technical aspect, and focused on the expressive, inspired, and artistic aspect of drawing. Lately, during a pivotal personal subject of his life, he naturally transitioned to a figure drawing practice. The line is fundamental to Jorge’s visual language. In his work, lines are not just outlines—they shape both presence and absence, defining mass and space. His style is figurative with a strong abstract sensibility, characterized by minimalism, yet charged with details, graphic precision, and intricate emotional force. He approaches his compositions as visual poetry: delicate yet powerful, masculine yet soft, always layered with emotional nuance and contradiction.
