Shouta Satou
Shouta Satou studied electronic engineering at a technical high school before beginning his career in metal fabrication and installation. Alongside his profession, he started creating illuminated sculptures by applying Japanese washi paper over wire frameworks, constructing forms designed to glow from within.
Seeking to further integrate his works into daily life, Satou gradually evolved his practice into sculptural lighting that exists between fine art and functional object.
In July 2025, his work was exhibited at Hyakudan Kaidan, Hotel Gajoen Tokyo. In January 2026, he held his first solo exhibition, Konseki (Traces of Intermingling). In February 2026, his work was selected as the main lighting installation for a Lexus showroom in Gunma, Japan.
